Project Description

Wooster & Associates has been providing traffic and site civil engineering services for Maronda Homes residential developments across Pennsylvania since 1997. Before any new residential community can break ground, a suite of engineering services must be completed in accordance with local and state regulations. Wooster manages the full process, beginning with a Traffic Impact Study (TIS) to evaluate existing conditions, forecast traffic generated by the new development, and determine whether roadway or intersection improvements are needed to maintain safe and efficient traffic flow.

Where improvements are required, Wooster's design engineers take over to design the physical mitigations identified in the TIS. This includes intersection upgrades, traffic signal design, site access and driveway design, ADA-compliant pedestrian infrastructure, and traffic control plans for the construction phase. When a development impacts a state-owned road, Wooster also manages the Highway Occupancy Permit (HOP) process with PennDOT to ensure all plans meet state requirements. Over more than 45 individual Maronda developments, Wooster has handled this entire process from study through construction.
